Still Cottage, 1935: Wolbrink [Sheet 023, Photo B], ISRO Archives.

I

n 1912, Charles A. Still built a small cottage in Snug Harbor on property he purchased from Knuet Knuetson. The Stills completed an addition to the main cottage in 1916. In addition to the main cottage, the property had an outdoor toilet and water system. The Stills were not interested in a life lease, but contemplated a three-year term lease; Harper and Willemin agreed. After repeated attempts to contact Willemin went unanswered, the Stills lost interest in a term lease and sold outright. The property was acquired by the U.S. government on June 26, 1939, for a total purchase price of $718.38. The cottage was removed shortly thereafter. Little else is known about the Still family or their use of the property.
